Elk Studios are a production studio located in the rural but innovative town of Dundalk in Ireland. They are a boutique studio that brings a wealth of experience from other high profile studios and projects.

Their mission is to foster a key creative hub in the country that is already known for its positive work/life balance and excellent staff welfare. They work to produce the highest quality content in partnership with other studios globally.

Their size and their unique location is their strength, allowing them to create bespoke projects for clients while fostering a creative and welcoming environment. Representation and Equality are also integral to the Elk Studios ethos, both on and off screen, they will continually review their methods to prevent any unconscious bias and will hold themselves accountable during these reviews.



Studio Projects:

-The Last Set (Short film):
In the space between life and death a man’s spirit is given one last chance to dance. It's world Premiere was on the 15th of July 2023 at the 35th Galway Film Fleadh.Written by John Mackey
and Directed by Aisling Conroy.


-‘Cliodhna Queen of the Banshees’’ (Short film):
Elk Studios first short film, commissioned by RTÉ for Halloween 2021. Cliodhna* is a 7 year old like no other, Cliodhna is a Banshee. In the middle of a classroom of children in school uniform, Cliodhna sits wailing wearing a grey cloak. A few of the other students roll their eyes - here she goes again. Cliodhna gets picked last in sports, she sits by herself at lunch, she never gets invited to anything, she’s lonely and misunderstood. As Halloween approaches Cliodhna gets an invite to a trick or treating party. Cliodhna’s mum creates a beautiful costume for her to wear and they excitedly go to the party. Despite Cliodhna’s nerves, for the first time feels like she fits in with her classmates and quickly realises that being different is a good thing.


-Rionas Warriors (Co-produced):
Produced by RedRay Films, elk.studios and Score Draw Music in collaboration with BBC Studios and developed with funding from Northern Ireland Screen. Riona and her friends love playing at being warriors. They practice blood curdling war cries and crochet chain-mail suits. They dream up scary names for each other and make extra pointy… eh, where have they gone? Sorry. They do get a little distracted sometimes. They might be mighty warriors but they’re children too. They live in a time that is half myth and half imagination - in a Celtic castle (Caislean-Oir) by a Celtic sea (Fraoch-Linn) full of fabulous Celtic creatures (GrRRrr!)
