Birdo is one of the most prolific creative studios in Brazil. Their animation work is present on every children-oriented broadcaster in the country and in 196 other territories as well. They are based in São Paulo, the most populous city on the American Continent and a hub for creative people from all around the world.

They started back in 2005, when the animators Luciana Eguti and Paulo Muppet decided to create a studio dedicated to character animation with just two computers and a fax machine. Now, the studio has over 60 amazing people working on different projects, but their artists’ heart remain unchanged. Here, creativity and experimentation are as important as meeting deadlines and planning ahead.


Studio Projects:

Ninjin:
NINJIN is a character-driven, anime inspired, action comedy anima­ted series co-produced by the game studio Pocket Trap, Birdo Studio and Cartoon Network Brasil, taking place in the same uni­verse as the video game Ninjin: Clash of Carrots. The series features 22 episodes, divided in 3 different formats: ten 1-minute-long episodes, seven 3-minute-long episodes and finally a miniseries with five 7-minute-long episodes. The story is focused on NINJIN, a rabbit cub who only cares about one thing: becoming an ass-kicking ninja master, just like his ancestors used to be in the days of yore. Alongside his pals, the fran­tic fox AKAI and the lazy frog FLINK, they will not only train under an ELDER RABBIT SENSEI - the real screwball around those parts - but will also face the most absurd, insane and out of control situations.

Vinicius & Tom: Funny By Nature:
Vinicius is the mix of all Brazilian fauna and has the amazing power to stretch himself to Olympic proportions. Tom is the mix of Brazilian fauna and can produce any object from inside his leafy hairdo. Their mission is to spread the Olympic and Paralympic values while breaking all the records of fun. For the Rio2016 Mascots, sports are all about having a great time and they will find a way to transform everything into a sport competition, from cooking dinner to dancing samba. Funny By Nature was the #1 most watched show on Cartoon Network Brazil in 2016 and helped make Vinicius and Tom the greatest record breakers of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Star Wars: Forces of Destiny:
Star Wars: Forces of Destiny is a series of shorts that shines a light on many of the heroines and heroes from the Star Wars franchise, throughout the entire timeline of this universe. The episodes explore even further the storylines of the main characters such as Rey, Padme, Leia, Ahsoka, and many more. Expect many action scenes, spaceships chasing, lightsaber fights and uses of the Force. Be aware there might be a spoiler or two! Birdo produced seasons 2 and 3 under the direction of the amazing team at Ghostbot.
