Job Description
The Fruition Foundation has an exciting opportunity for gifted animators to create a 3 minute anime short set to publish by May 2025.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Storyboarding and animating characters, action sequences, items, and backgrounds in a fluid Japanese anime style ready for voice syncing.
- Use your creative prowess to convey tone and emotion for all stages of character and environment animation, from storyboarding to fully animated sequences, while maintaining the art style, fluidity, and quality that meets industry standards.
- Work closely with different artists/animators and the project director to understand and execute the project’s scope, creative direction, style, aesthetic, objectives, develop realistic timelines, and understand the practical direction.
- Experimenting and presenting new and innovative methods and solutions. This environment values and encourages your creativity, input, collaboration, and new ideas to enhance the project.
- Posses the ability to work independently or as part of a team, adhere to established timelines, and be open to receiving, soliciting, and providing constructive feedback/ revision to bring art in line with project vision.
- Follow technical and aesthetic guidance set by the project director (improvise and provide unique flare when needed and adhere to directives when not).
You must be willing to sign an NDA and be able to communicate in a timely and effective manner. This is a fully REMOTE position. Your geographic location does not matter, your skillset and abilities do. Your talent/ ability is valued more than your experience. Every skill level from Senior to Junior (emerging talent) is strongly encouraged to apply. The tone of this project is serious, dark, hopeless, post-apocalyptic, and mysterious with heavy religious undertones. The animation style is realistic and fluid similar to Chainsaw Man, Animatrix: A Detective Story, Ghost in the Shell: The original motion picture, Castlevania (animated series), Ergo Proxy, Reign: The Conqueror, and Aeon Flux. The script, concept (includes a full description of the characters and the world in which they exist), and character concept art are complete. Setting reference images will be provided for environments so intended aesthetics may be captured. Should there be mutual interest in moving forward, more in depth details will be provided.
