Game Studio looking for 2D Animator for 1 min action sequence

Job Description

TrapSoul Games are seeking Animators based anywhere for a 2D hand-drawn 1 minute animated action sequence for a game. The animations first cut exists, they are seeking to do revisions and improvements which we anticipate will take approximately 2 months, but other animation assignments may come up, extending this timeline. This role will be remote, but speaking fluent English is a requirement.

Multiple roles are available, including:

• Background Artist (2D)
• Animator (2D)
• Compositor (2D & 3D)

General Responsibilities for All Roles:

• Review the animatic and project materials to understand your assignment.
• Familiarize yourself with the project’s style, tracking systems, file naming conventions, and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate with your lead/supervisor on feedback, retake notes, and deadlines.
• Update supervisors regularly on progress and any issues.
• Log your working hours and manage your schedule effectively, providing daily updates on progress
• Uphold our studio’s culture of fairness and sustainability.

Animator Responsibilities :

• Transform storyboards and animatics into engaging, expressive animations that match the project’s style
• Create new or modify existing animations incorporating all notes provided by team

Background Artist Responsibilities:

• Create detailed and cohesive backgrounds that enhance the overall visual design.

Compositor Responsibilities:

• Integrate visual elements, camera movements, and adjust color, lighting, and effects (as needed) to produce polished final scenes.

Requirements

• Experience working on collaborative teams with feedback cycles
• 1+ years experience is preferred, but not required if skill level is reflected in previous works
• Familiarity with Adobe products, particularly Photoshop
• For Compositors: After Effects preferred
• Fluent in English
• Ability to attend multiple weekly virtual meetings on PST or EST (US based).
• A Discord account, since most of the collaboration will be done via Discord
