Foliascope was founded in 2013 by Pascal Le Nôtre, he set up a studio in Beaumont-lès-Valence in Drôme. Since its inception more than ten years ago, the French studio Foliascope has become a major player in 2D animation and stop motion. The studio produces and supports creatives throughout the development, production, and execution phases. In partnership with other French and European productions, Foliascope brings together top talent for ambitious projects, with a focus on productions aimed at young audiences.

Foliascope also supports more complex films with clearly defined graphic, narrative, political, and social ambitions. Foliascope produces in all formats and has its own in-house studio for traditional 2D and digital 2D animation (20 workstations: Adobe, TvPaint, Toonboom), compositing/editing/VFX, and one of the largest stop-motion sets in Europe.

The Banquet of the Concubine:
China, in the year 746, the Tang dynasty, the most rich/blooming period of the country history. The emperor, Li, beholds a court of numerous concubines, the mostprecious is Yang. The emperor is preparing a grand banquet in her honor. But on the day, the emperor Li is seeing someone else, and he completely forgets about Yang's banquet.

Sensational:
This music video was produced for one of the songs frrom the Stuck in the sound album "16 Dreams a minute" released on February 02, 2024 (Uptown Park). The music video was selected for numerous festivals: Supertoon, STUFF MX, Golden Kuker (IAFF), Palm Spring International Animation Festival (PSIAF), Anibar Animation Festival, Imaginaria. It was awarded a Jury Prize at the Clips de Paname Festival and an Honorable Mention at the Animusic Festival in Girona.

Back to Tomioka:
Two years after the Fukushima nuclear disaster, orphaned sibilings Akiko (14) and Osamu (11) live with their grandmother, Baa-chan, in a refugee camp.When Baa-chan passes away and a distant uncle and aunt suddenly appear to take them back to Tokyo, Osamu convinces his sister to run away instead. Their mission: to bring their grandmother's ashes to the famaly altar in Tomioka- deep within the forbidden zone - where Baa-chan had always wished to rest. Osamu and Akiko embark on a perilous coming-of-age- journey through a world abandoned by humans. But this no-mans land is now ruled by a mysterious and unsettling new Yokai, born from the lingering radiation.
