All of this positions HAMPA STUDIO as one of the most comprehensive, versatile, and established companies on the national scene and the largest animation studio in Spain.

Studio Projects:

-Black is Beltza:
The film is an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name by Harkaitz Cano and Fermín Muguruza, who also directed the movie. After its festival run, it was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the Gaudí Awards, and it won the award for Best Sound Design and Original Music at the Quirino Awards. Black is Beltza’ tells the story of Manex, the young man in charge of carrying one of the giants. Thrust into a long and unexpected journey, Manex becomes a witness to key historical events: the racial riots following the assassination of Malcolm X, the eccentric characters of The Factory, the alliance between Cuban secret services and the Black Panthers, and the proto-hippie psychedelia of the early music festivals.

-Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles:
‘Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles’ is the most successful project from the studio’s in-house productions division. The film boasts an impressive list of accolades, including Best Film at the Goya Awards, as well as Best Film at the Platino Awards and the European Film Awards (EFA). This is a 2018 Spanish adult animated biographical drama film directed by Salvador Simó and written by Simó & Eligio R. Montero based on the graphic novel Buñuel en el laberinto de las tortugas by Fermín Solís, about film director Luis Buñuel making the 1933 film Land Without Bread.

-Paradise Buffet:
In a buffet restaurant, a diverse group of characters access a wide variety of exquisite delicacies without being aware of the serious sin that gluttony represents. A harsh critique of the insatiable nature of contemporary societies, which tends to manifest beyond just food. The idea behind the short film was born from a series of illustrations created by Héctor Zafra. “I drew several people devouring food, and from that, I envisioned an entire world revolving around giant feasts.»
