Les Astronautes

Our editorial line is simple: make films!

Les Astronautes was founded by Jean Bouthors , Vanessa Buttin-Labarthe and Rémy Schaepman , who have shared their passion for cinema and space exploration for several years in the aisles of La Cartoucherie.

Les Astronautes is a production company for cinema, television and new media based in Bourg-lès-Valence and Avignon. Whether animated, filmed, fictional, documentary or interactive, Les Astronautes offers films with a strong narrative and aesthetic bias.

Studio Projects:

Keiko And The Floating World:
2011. Fukushima. Keiko's life is turned upside down when her friends are swallowed up by the tsunami. Two years later, unable to grieve, the former trawler captain sets sail for the quarantine zone, convinced they are still alive.

2H14:
Four young teenagers seek happiness through unusual means: swallowing worms, going blind, opening imaginary doors... Their intersecting quests are carefully observed by a swallow; until everything collapses at 2:14.

Take Flesh:
In his neighborhood, Venance is never very comfortable; he increasingly resents the remarks and mockery about his excess weight. Although protected by his sister Florise, he is constantly the victim of daily aggression, even within his family. His body reacts: his excess weight takes on flesh and becomes an outlet for his discomfort.
