Their first original short film, UNDER COVERS, premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and was featured in IndieWire as one of Sundance’s “Must-See Gems”. In addition to TV and film projects, Mighty Oak’s commercial work has garnered billions of views across digital platforms for clients such as Conde Nast, The New York Times, Coca-Cola, Samsung, GE, Etsy, Airbnb, and TED Talks, landing their studio on Fast Company’s list of Most Creative People in Business (two spots below America’s weirdest Catwoman - Michelle Pfeiffer).
Studio Projects:
Disney Holiday Series:
Mighty Oak launched a new Disney series celebrating holidays year-round through a vibrant, original 2D animation style. Each short reimagines beloved characters from Disney in fresh, seasonal moments—crafted for a digital-first audience. Art directed by twin duo Joy Buran and Noelle Melody, the series blends playful storytelling with a bold, graphic aesthetic unique to Mighty Oak.
Henrietta Finds A Nest:
In the animated short film Henrietta Finds a Nest, a young chick named Henrietta embarks on a heartwarming journey from neglect at a factory farm to friendship with a little girl. With tender moments, gentle humor, and a timeless message of connection, this six-minute tale invites audiences of all ages to embrace the magic of friendship and the power of compassion. The incredible team at Mercy For Animals approached Mighty Oak to tell the true, heartfelt story of a fluffy white chicken named Henrietta and the family who takes her in as one of their own.
Adult Swim: Rick And Morty Idents
Mighty Oak were asked by Adult Swim to write and animate 5 signature IDs for Season 6 of Rick and Morty. The inspiration for this particular campaign came from the 1930s Herge classic, The Adventures of Tintin. To the team, the parallels between Tintin and Rick and Morty are uncanny. In both properties, you have an odd young man going on dangerous adventures with a haggard drunk of a man. By using clean lines, bright colors and high attention to detail in both design and concepting, the goal was to comedically contrast the innocent, nostalgic, comic look of the Herge classic with the hardcore comedy of Rick and Morty. Each ID plays like a classic adventure story. From the sky, to the sea, to the desert, to outer space, these IDs follow Rick, Morty and their trusty dog Snowball as they explore the dangerous world of Rick and Morty - with a Tintin twist.
