Picnic Studio was founded by Mina Song and Liam O'Connor. Writer/producer/directors with a passion for fantastical heartfelt stories in a dreamy mix of Asian and European influences.

2D is their first love but they have explored storytelling in VR, live visuals, title sequences and graphic novels. As well as a wealth of commercial work, charity and pro-social projects for AMNESTY, CALM and SPANA among others are a vital part of their reel. Their BBC films on Children's mental health won a National Television award and their musical launch film for Hopster picked up a Kidscreen award for best short film.


Studio Projects:

-Class Zero: Teaser:
CLASS ZERO is a multi-platform storytelling project from Kofu Studios. A utopian technological society hides a secret cosmic power which holds creation and destruction in perfect balance. Meanwhile, four best friends just want to navigate everyday life, avoid responsibility, study and control their developing superpowers. But getting ahead means discovering their futures may be tied to the everyone's survival.

-Kikkoman Kitchen Adventures Trailer:
To get their sauces in every cuisine in Europe, Kikkoman enlisted the awesome people at taste.de to create a new character - ‘Sensei Kikk’: Saucier ninja and conjurer of powerful soy-brewed magic. Together, Picnic Studio created a series of commercials showcasing his transformative powers over a range of European dishes.

-LEGO NINJAGO | 'Curiosity':
Picnic Studio teamed up with director David Mellor and the awesome crew at Highly Unlikely to create a commercial for the new set of Ninjago creatures and vehicles. The brilliant and playful folks at LEGO allowed them to explore their world in a breathless flurry of 2D.
