STUDIO AKA is a multi-BAFTA winning, EMMY awarded & OSCAR-nominated independent animation studio. Known internationally for their idiosyncratic & innovative work, expressed across an eclectic range of projects—from the apocalyptic title sequence for Ridley Scott’s HBO Max series RAISED BY WOLVES to their worldwide hit preschool show HEY DUGGEE. They are a close knit team that include, directors, designers, animators, writers, technical artists & producers who create & consult on projects with a strong emphasis on Story, Design & Character.


Studio Projects:

-BBC Storyworks – Journey of Electricity (2023):
Journey of Electricity is a special project – made in collaboration with BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions for Hitachi Energy – which aims to demystify the electricity we all take for granted.

-Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023/Main Title Design)
The show features an enchanting Main Title sequence designed and directed by Studio AKA’s Manddy Wyckens, who sought to create something suitably stunning to complement the luxurious characteristics familiar to the Bridgerton universe, Studio AKA’s talented animation artists helped bring Manddy’s meticulous vision to life, ensuring that the design look retained its coherence as the visual language was refined to reach the desired look to wrap the series in.

-Godmothered (2020/Animated Intro Seq.):
In the summer of 2020, with the studio building closed and all staff working remotely, Studio AKA was commissioned by Disney to create 7 minutes of feature quality 2D animation to complement existing shots in the Disney+ film GODMOTHERED.
