Animagic S.L. was born on 2004 as a small Animation service company, and then changed its name to THE SPA Studios (standing for Sergio Pablos Animation) on 2010. Since the beginning, their focus has been on producing high quality work in all things Animation, providing Production and Pre-Production services for such clients as Universal, Blue Sky, Warner and Disney to name a few.

At the same time, they've made a great effort in developing original content for Feature Animation Films. They successfully created and developed the original Story and materials on which Universal's "Despicable Me"​ is based, and are currently in negotiations in regards to several other Feature Film properties.


Studio Projects:

-KLAUS
Klaus is a 2019 traditionally animated Christmas comedy film written and directed by Sergio Pablos in his directorial debut, produced by his company The SPA Studios and distributed by Netflix. The film presents a revolutionary technique that pushes the limitations of traditional animation to new heights. It received seven Annie Awards (including Best Feature), a BAFTA for Best Animated Film, two Quirino Awards and was nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature Film, as well as several nominations at the VES and the Goya Awards.

-RIO
(Visual Development, Storyboarding & Character Design):
Rio is a 2011 American 3D computer-animated film produced by Blue Sky Studios, directed by Carlos Saldanha and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Sergio Pablos worked in Rio as a Character Designer where he received his second Annie Award Nomination as Best Character Design in a Feature Production. The SPA Studios team also contributed to the film’s Visual Development and Storyboarding

--DESPICABLE ME
(Original Idea, Visual Development, Storyboarding & Executive Production):
The 2010 American computer-animated film Despicable Me produced by Illumination Entertainment and directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud had its origins at The SPA Studios, from a concept created by Sergio Pablos, who went on to become an Executive Producer on the film.
