Job Description
The Blue Room are looking for a simple, flat 2D animation with a minimalist, illustrative style. The visuals should use bold, solid shapes with very limited detail, no textures, and no outlines (or extremely subtle ones).
The background is a soft gradient (warm tones blending smoothly), giving a calm, atmospheric feel rather than a literal environment.
The character/object is treated almost like a graphic silhouette, stylised rather than realistic, with smooth, fluid motion. Movement should feel slow, gentle, and organic, using easing rather than sharp or snappy animation.
There’s a strong focus on negative space, simplicity, and mood. Any secondary elements (like shadows or reflections) are also stylised and abstract, not physically accurate.
Overall, the animation should feel:
– Calm and modern
– Conceptual rather than narrative
– More “design-led” than character-led
– Suitable for corporate/editorial use, not cartoony or playful
– Minimalist 2D animation
