OverSimplified are expanding their production team and looking for a highly skilled 2D Animator to help bring history to life. If you have a knack for visual storytelling, a great sense of humor, and the technical skills to match, they want you on board.
The Role
You will be a core part of the creative process, turning complex historical events into highly engaging, animated content for an audience of millions. The team operates in a dynamic, somewhat unstructured environment where adaptability and creative problem-solving are just as important as technical skill.
Essential Requirements
- After Effects Mastery: Exceptional proficiency in Adobe After Effects, which serves as their primary animation engine. Along with Duik for character rigging.
- Style Adaptability: A keen eye for seamlessly replicating their established visual style, alongside the talent to continuously refine and elevate it.
- Comic Timing: A strong sense of humor and the ability to execute precise comedic timing to land visual gags.
- Creative Translation: The ability to visualize, interpret, and build out complete scenes directly from verbal storyboards.
- Self-Direction: Comfort and flexibility navigating a fluid, creative workflow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Historical Interest: A genuine passion for and general knowledge of history.
- Design Fundamentals: Strong graphic design and asset manipulation skills using Adobe Photoshop.
- Versatility: A highly flexible approach to evolving project scopes, timelines, and creative direction.
