Job Description
- Location: Remote
- Compensation: $40 per minute of animation + illustrations.
- TOTAL of $480 to $640 per month. Or more if you’re capable of animating more.
- (rates are negotiable based on experience and skill level)
- Expected Output: At least 2 videos per month per animator (8-10 minutes each)
What You Will Do
As an Animator, you will bring scripts to life with punchy comedic timing and clean visuals. Your typical workflow will include:
- Receiving a completed script, an animatic, and an edited Voice Over (VA) audio file.
- Drawing and creating all required visual assets from scratch (characters, creatures, props, and backgrounds) directly within Blender using Grease Pencil.
- Rigging assets when needed for efficient layout and motion.
- Executing simple, high-impact “slide-show” / stepped animations with snappy comedic timing.
What They Are Looking For (Requirements)
- Blender Wizards: Deep, comprehensive understanding of how Blender works across the board.
- Grease Pencil Mastery: You must be capable of drawing simple 2D characters, creatures, and backgrounds all inside Blender using Grease Pencil.
- Tools of the Trade: You own and actively use a digital drawing tablet with a stylus/pencil.
- Animation & Comedy Timing: You understand how to use stepped/limited animation frames to land a punchline and keep viewer retention at an all-time high.
- Reliability & Pace: Ability to meet production goals of producing at least 2 videos per month (8-10 minutes each).
