Job Description

The Director of the upcoming feature film Dawgtown is looking for a traditional character animator for his next project.

Must have strong figure-drawing skills in the style of Disney films like Pocahontas and Hunchback. Lipsyncing and strong facial emotion needed for most shots. TVPaint software a plus, but they have worked with Harmony animators, as well as scanned paper animators. Pay is by the foot (every 16 frames) and negotiable.

NOTE: Please do not submit unless you have sample footage of a classic Disney type(animators for reference include John Pomeroy, Andreas Deja, Glen Keane, James Baxter etc). They want to see top-quality, full animation that is on-model and dynamic. Please do not submit any cut-out, Anime, CG, limited (less than 12 drawings per second), A.I. or Cartoon Network style. It’s fine if that is part of your reel, as long as your reel shows an example of the classic Disney style as well.

Requirements

  • Have sample footage of a classic Disney type animation.
  • Must be capable of producing full animation that is on-model and dynamic, with 12 drawing per second or more.
  • TVPaint software a plus, but experience with Toon Boom Harmony and scan paper animation is welcomed.
  • Great with lipsyncing and have a strong grrasp on potraying facial emotion.
  • Have figure-drawing skills in the style of Disney films like Pocahontas and Hunchback.
