Job Description
Probably Fine is an animated history YouTube channel with deadpan, dark humor in the style of OverSimplified. They’re hiring an animatic artist / creative director.
You take a finished script and build the animatic: pacing, shot composition, and comedic timing. You decide how long a beat holds and when a gag lands, before the animation team takes over. They have a clear style and reference episodes to get you up to speed fast.
What they’re looking for:
– Strong sense of comedic timing above all
– Solid animatic / storyboard skills
– You can work in whatever tool you like, as long as you deliver a timed animatic we can hand to the animation team
– Able to work to an established style and hit recurring deadlines
The core of the role is the animatic and its comedic timing, that’s what they need above all. But if you also have leadership and team-coordination skills, there’s room to grow into a full creative director role. They’re open to both: a specialist focused purely on animatics, or someone who wants wider direction.
Recurring, two videos a month, long-term. Compensation scales with scope ($3,000-6,000/month range) plus performance bonuses.
