The Role
The client is looking for a talented 2D Animator to join their creative team and animate a cast of custom-designed characters for Lurnex—a business education platform that blends storytelling, systems thinking, and digital learning.
You’ll be responsible for turning static illustrations into expressive, animated assets for use in training modules, explainer videos, and interactive learning experiences. The goal: bring structure and personality to complex ideas using animation that feels smart, sharp, and human.
Responsibilities:
- Animate illustrated characters using After Effects, Adobe Character Animator, or similar tools.
- Create expressive, professional motion sequences for explainer videos and micro-learning content.
- Interpret scripts and storyboards to bring clarity and flow to animated segments.
- Animate visual frameworks, UI elements, icons, and typography where needed.
- Collaborate with their design and content teams to align visuals with voiceover, tone, and timing.
- Organise assets and deliver clean, export-ready animations to spec

Requirements
- Proven experience as a 2D animator, with a strong portfolio of commercial or educational work
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and either Adobe Character Animator, DUIK, RubberHose, or similar rigging tools
- Ability to sync movement with voiceover and music
- Strong understanding of pacing, expression, and clarity in motion
- Ability to work independently to deadlines within a structured creative workflow
- Desirable: Illustration skills or ability to adapt and prepare character artwork.
- Desirable: Experience using Procreate, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
- Desirable: Familiarity with educational or e-learning environmentsInterest in storytelling, systems thinking, or behavioural change.
- Desirable: Confidence working with a shared asset library and structured file naming conventions
