My Animation Life (MAL) are seeking a 2D Animator to bring expressive movement, comedic timing, and story-driven performance to life for a light-hearted, humorous educational adventure series for children. This is a contract-based role that allows you to work from anywhere in the world. The ideal candidate will be confident in animating scenes independently and able to deliver clean, composite-ready animation that matches the tone of the series.

About the Role:

The 2D Animator will be responsible for animating character and prop performances across multiple scenes. You will receive storyboards, design files, and direction, and will be expected to carry each scene through to the final composite. You will work closely with the Creative Director to ensure consistent pacing, timing, and personality across all animated content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Animate character-driven sequences with humor, energy, and emotional clarity.
  • Translate storyboards and timing notes into fluid, expressive 2D animation.
  • Composite scenes, combining character animation, effects, and painted backgrounds.
  • Follow consistent file management and naming conventions.
  • Participate in review sessions and respond to feedback efficiently.
  • Deliver final scenes on schedule and at production quality.

To Apply:

Please send your animation reel, resume, and a short message (no more than 250 words) explaining your interest in this project and what you uniquely bring to the role to: https://www.myanimationlife.com/job-2d-animator-project-cld . All submissions will be reviewed with care.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Adobe After Effects or Toon Boom Harmony or an equivalent 2D animation program.
  • Strong understanding of timing, weight, spacing, and posing for both action and subtle performance.
  • Experience with compositing animated scenes into final shots.
