Please note that this is a paid project. As an independent animation studio operating within an indie budget, compensation will reflect their current production scale. Payments will be issued via Cash App or Venmo, so applicants must have one of these platforms set up in advance. At this time, opportunities with Magiclux Studios should be considered supplemental work and not a replacement for full-time employment.
They are currently unable to provide licensed software. All team members are expected to have access to the necessary tools required to fulfill their role. That said, they aim to offer software support in the future as the studio grows.
Magiclux Studios operates as a collaborative team, and clear, consistent communication is essential. They maintain scheduled check-ins to ensure project milestones are met, and it is expect to give regular progress updates from all contributors.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered. This application is Seasonal term based.
2D Animator Role (Freelance) – Magical Girl Fantasy Animation
They are seeking animation that is cinematic, emotionally engaging, and heavily inspired by modern action anime. The series emphasizes expressive acting, dynamic movement, magical effects, and visually striking action sequences.
Responsibilities
- Animate assigned sequences ranging from 10 seconds to 90 seconds in length.
- Create polished animation for:
- Character acting scenes
- Action sequences
- Anime-style opening sequences
- Magical girl and magical boy transformations
- Spellcasting and magical effects
- Follow model sheets and production guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with the Director and Producer.
- Implement revisions while maintaining production schedules.
- Maintain consistency with established character designs, proportions, and animation style.
- Deliver clean animation files organized according to studio requirements.
Storyboard Artist Role (Freelance) – Magical Girl Fantasy Animation
Theye are looking for artists who can create cinematic, emotionally engaging, and anime-inspired storyboards. The series emphasizes expressive character acting, dynamic camera work, magical action, and strong visual storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Create storyboard sequences for:
- Short-form animatics
- Anime-style opening sequences
- Magical girl transformation sequences
- Dialogue and character-driven scenes
- Collaborate with the Director and Producer.
- Revise assignments based on feedback.
- Maintain consistency with the project’s visual style and tone.
- Deliver organized storyboard files on schedule.
Assignments typically range from 20–100 panels depending on the sequence.

Requirements
- Demo Reel/Portfolio showing off your skills.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, gesture, and perspective.
- Understanding of camera language and cinematic storytelling.
- Ability to follow an established art style.
- Preferred: Previous storyboard/animation experience. (Industry experience is welcome but not required.)
- Preferred: Experience with anime-inspired productions.
- Preferred: Experience creating transformation sequences.
- Preferred: Strong action choreography and dynamic camera work.
- For the storyboard artist they must have access and experience with Toon Boom, Storyboard Pro or Clip Studio Paint.
- For the Promo 2D Animator they must have access to Toon Boom Harmony, Clip Studio Paint EX, Adobe Animate, OpenToonz or TVPaint.
