About the mentor

Edward Kurchevsky is a director and 2D animator who has worked in the industry for over 10 years.

During this time, he created many animation projects, having undergone serious training in the field of animation through two higher educations in Poland and France. He holds a master's degree from Goblins Paris. In 2018, thanks to his talent, he won the Disney Art Challenge. Edward is a freelancer on feature-length and short-length projects in Europe and also runs LIHTAR STUDIO.

In May 2024, the studio team released a fan teaser for the popular fantasy saga “The Witcher,” Edward’s dream project. The project took two years to create and has already gained popularity online.

“One of the most important steps in the world of professional animation for me was the series PRIMAL (Season 2). After 2 years, I rethought the experience I received many times. It was a powerful push into the industry,” Edward admits on his social network page.

Edward prefers to work in traditional 2D animation, storyboarding, and short film direction. Since 2017, he has been a speaker and organizer of large master classes at school and outside of it. He is also the lead mentor in teaching AnimationClub School’s traditional 2D animation course.
